WOW! I have ventured into myspace, facebook and now our own blog spot!!! I have very little time with 9-12 young people living in my house this summer, but I seem to find the need to journal the happenings with Adullam and our ever-growing family.
Many ask what's this ministry all about. One thing I can say about it is that it is our way of living. Mark and I have had a dream hidden deep within our souls for quite sometime now, but until last year, had not felt the leading of the Spirit to move on it. Last May, we found ourselves frustrated in many areas of our life, nevertheless, we were sure of one thing- the 3 teens "crashing" at our house was a picture of the hidden dream coming to pass before our eyes. Within 10 months, we had quit our salaried position of youth pastor, 5 full time teens in our home, 2 "weekenders" and an assurance from the Lord that He had it all planned from the beginning. Even though the property does not look like the ranch of our dreams YET, we do know that Adullam (the name means, REFUGE) is unfolding into a strong team ministry that supersedes anything we ever dreamed of!
I never imagined teens and even our small children could be so hungry for the presence of God, Biblically wise and so dedicated to laying down their lives for the Kingdom of Christ! Many have thought our own little ones would be lost in the shuffle. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. In fact, Caroline, Molly Kate and Abigail push us daily to keep following the call of God in this area. Caroline, 11 going on 20, reminds me almost weekly of this..." if the Lord calls Mommy and Daddy to something, He calls us all, even the small ones." WOW! What maturity. I want to grow up to be like her. Of course, Eli loves the constant attention and mothering he receives and we are paying the price of doting on this big brown-eyed, future prophet!!!
I hope you will enjoy my journals of being a spiritual mom to so many. If did not have such a wonderful husband and precious children, I would be insane by now... hmmmm... you would tell me if I was, right????

Hey Leslie! Love the new blog. Very pretty colors! It's going to be a great outlet for you. I love writing on ours (even though I haven't done it in a long time!)
